In former times, when we were still common high school students, we were forbidden by the teachers and parents to fall in love with some else or just has some kind of tender feelings for some people around ourselves. They called this a kind of early love, and so it can be said to be definitely inappropriate for us students. In their opinion, and even in the public’s mind, we should just focus our mind on the everyday studying and pressing hard for the university entrance examination.
But when we enter the university, it seems that all these are changed suddenly, because we are actually put into a small society, in which different kinds of people exist together and there are also many various kinds of cases for us to deal with in our daily life. At the same time, we can enjoy a certain kind of freedom, with which we can decide many things for ourselves, which in former times were not totally decided by ourselves, such as what to put on every day, what to eat for meals, when to rise up in the morning and so on.
Yesterday, one roommate of mine bought a pair of UGG shoes for herself when she went shopping in the morning. In former times, she would never buy such kind of expensive thing when she went out shopping alone, because she must ask her mother for advice when she bought something. Although she might sometimes have the opportunity to buy something for herself, she dared not to put it on if it was not proper for her in her parents’ eyes.
So it can be said that the university is really a place where many things about ourselves can be changed easily into another kind of form by and by, but at the same time, it is also true that when we must face this kind of new environment, in which we find that we want to change ourselves, we can adapt ourselves to the outside larger environment easier when we really step in it in the future when we finally graduate from the university.
